Pop star and actress Ariana Grande has once again addressed the ongoing commentary about her physical appearance, urging the public to reconsider judging others' bodies. On Saturday, November 29, the "Wicked: For Good" actress took toInstagram Storiesto reshare a candid interview from her 2024 press tour, captioning it with a pointed message: "resharing this from last year as a loving reminder to all."

The 32-year-old performer's decision to revisit this conversation comes amid renewed scrutiny surrounding her appearance during promotional activities for the recently released sequel to "Wicked." Throughout both film campaigns, social media users and media outlets have consistently focused on Grande's weight, with many expressing concern about her noticeably slimmer figure.

In the reshared interview footage from the web seriesOui Oui Baguette, Grande became visibly emotional while discussing the pressures of growing up in the public eye. She described her experience in the spotlight since her teenage years, saying she has been like a specimen under constant observation and has heard every possible criticism about her appearance. The singer emphasized the difficulty of protecting oneself from such persistent negative commentary.

Grande's message specifically addressed what she views as a troubling social trend. She expressed concern about society's comfort level with commenting on others' physical appearance, health, and presentation, calling this behavior dangerous for everyone involved. The artist stressed that such remarks apply to all aspects of a person's appearance, from clothing choices to body shape and facial features.

This is not the first time Ariana Grande has spoken out against body shaming. In 2023, the singer addressed similar concerns in a TikTok video, revealing important context about her past appearance. She explained that the body people were comparing her current physique to was actually her most unhealthy state, when she was struggling with depression, taking antidepressants, drinking alcohol while on medication, and eating poorly.

Despite the negativity she has faced, Grande shared that she has learned to distance herself from harmful commentary. She stated that the pressure and noise have been constant since she was 17, but she no longer invites such negativity into her life, choosing instead to focus on her work, her life, and the people she loves.

The star also acknowledged the support system that helps her maintain a positive self-image. During the interview, she mentioned feeling fortunate to have people around her who remind her of her beauty and worth. This network of support has been crucial in helping her navigate the challenges of celebrity and public scrutiny.

Grande's friendly reminder comes at a time when conversations about body positivity and the harmful effects of unsolicited commentary on appearance have become increasingly prominent in public discourse. Her willingness to address body shaming publicly highlights the ongoing need for greater empathy and restraint when discussing others' physical appearances, regardless of their celebrity status.

AsWicked: For Goodcontinues its theatrical run, Grande has made clear that she wants the focus to remain on the art rather than her appearance. The film, which recently premiered to strong box office numbers, represents a significant creative achievement for the performer, who has expressed deep gratitude for the role of Glinda.

A Border Patrol-led immigration crackdown is coming to southeast Louisiana. Here's what to know

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Around 250 federal border agents are expected to launch a monthslongimmigration crackdownon Monday in southeast Louisiana and into Mississippi dubbed "Swamp Sweep."

The deployment, which aims to arrest 5,000 people, is centered in liberal New Orleans and is the latest federal immigration enforcement operation to target a Democratic-run city as President Donald Trump's administration pursuesits mass deportation agenda.

Border Patrol commanderGregory Bovino, who has led aggressive operations in Chicago, Los Angeles and Charlotte, North Carolina, is expected to helm the campaign.

Many in the greater New Orleans area, particularly in Latino communities, have been on edge since the planned operationswere reportedearlier this month, even as Republican Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry said he welcomes the federal agents.

Here's what to know about "Swamp Sweep."

Border Patrol accused of aggressive tactics in blue cities

Bovino has become the Trump administration's go-to operative for leading large-scale, high-profile immigration enforcement campaigns. During his operation in Chicago, federal agentsrappelled from a helicopterinto a residential apartment complex and fired pepper balls and tear gas at protesters.

Federal agents arrested more than 3,200 immigrants during asurge in the Chicago areain recent months, but have not provided many details. Court documents on roughly 600 recent arrests showed that only ahandfulhad criminal records representing a "high public safety risk," according to federal government data.

Border Patrol, whichdoes not typicallyoperate in dense urban areas or in situations with protesters, has been accused of heavy-handed tactics, promptingseveral lawsuits. Earlier this month, a federal judge in Chicagoaccused Bovino of lyingand rebuked him for deploying chemical irritants against protesters.

Bovino has doubled down on the efficacy of his agency's operations.

"We're finding and arresting illegal aliens, making these communities safer for the Americans who live there," he said in a post on X.

Louisiana has strict immigration enforcement laws

The Department of Justice has accused New Orleans of undermining federal immigration enforcement and included it on a list of 18 so-called sanctuary cities. The city's jail, which has been under longstanding oversight from a federal judge, does not cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement under most circumstances, and its police department views immigration enforcement as a civil matter outside its jurisdiction.

However, Louisiana's Republican-dominated Legislature has passed laws tocompel New Orleans agenciesto align with the Trump administration's hard-line immigration stance.

One such law makes it a crime to "knowingly" do something intended to "hinder, delay, prevent, or otherwise interfere with or thwart" federal immigration enforcement efforts. Anyone who violates the law could face fines and up to a year of jail time.

Additionally, lawmakers expanded the crime of malfeasance in office, which is punishable by up to 10 years in jail, for government officials who refuse to comply with requests from agencies like ICE. It also prohibits police and judges from releasing from their custody anyone who "illegally entered or unlawfully remained" in the U.S. without providing advance notice to ICE.

New Orleans awaits federal agents

In and around New Orleans, some immigration lawyers say they have been inundated with calls from people trying to prepare for the upcoming operation. One immigration lawyer, Miguel Elias, says his firm is conducting many consultations virtually or by telephone because people are too afraid to come in person.

He likens the steps many in the immigrant community are taking to what people do to prepare for a hurricane — hunker down or evacuate. Families are stocking up on groceries and making arrangements for friends to take their children to school to limit how frequently they leave the house, he said.

In the days leading up to Border Patrol's planned operations, businesses have posted signs barring federal agents from entry and grassroots advocacy groups have offered rights-related trainings and workshops on documenting the planned crackdown.

While New Orleans is famous for its blend of cultures, only around 6.7% of its population of nearly 400,000 is foreign-born, though that rises to almost 10% in neighboring metro areas. That's still well below the national average of 14.3%, according to U.S. census data.

The city's Hispanic population ballooned during rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and now makes up around 14% of the population, according tocensus data compiled by New Orleans-based Data Center.

ThePew Research Centerestimates 110,000 immigrants who lack permanent legal status were living in Louisiana as of 2023, comprising approximately 2.4% of the state's population. Most of them are from Honduras.

Amanda Toups, who owns local restaurant Toups Meatery and runs a nonprofit to help feed neighbors in need, said she expects the federal operations to negatively impact the city's tourism-dependent economy, which supports the rest of Louisiana.

"If you're scaring off even 5% of tourism, that's devastating," she said. "You're brown and walking around in town somewhere and you could get tackled by ICE and you're an American citizen? Does that make you want to travel to New Orleans?"

Santana reported from Washington, D.C. and Cline reported from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

A 45-car pile up involving commercial and passenger vehicles on Interstate 78 in Indiana and a Delta flight skidding off the runway in Iowa are just two incidents being blamed on a powerful winter storm taking aim at the heart of the country, impacting one of the biggest travel days of the year.

Around 25 million people remain under winter weather alerts Sunday morning amid the Thanksgiving weekend storm system that has brought over a foot of snow and strong winds to parts of the Midwest, and thunderstorms across the South. Snowfall totals as of 11 a.m. include 15 inches in Fort Dodge, Iowa, 13 inches in Lancaster, Wisconsin and a foot of snow in Pana, Illinois.

The National Weather Service warned that a quick burst of snowfall will impact the Chicago area Sunday morning, reducing visibility on the roads and making travel dangerous.

In Indiana no serious injuries were reported following the 45-car pile up of commercial and passenger vehicles on Sunday, according to Indiana State Police.

Sergeant Matt Ames encouraged residents to stay home if they could and drive safely if they need to be on the roads.

"People just need to drive smart when the snow starts falling, reduce your speed, make sure you're buckled up, and let's just all be safe out there," Ames said, adding that a shutdown of the interstate to allow for clean up will last around six hours.

In Iowa, Delta Air Lines flight 5087 slid off the end of a runway while turning onto a taxiway due to icy conditions at Des Moines International Airport on Saturday night, according to the airline and the Federal Aviation Administration. The passengers were deplaned and taken to a terminal. The FAA is investigating the incident.

"Safety comes before all else and we apologize to our customers for the experience," Delta said in a statement, adding that no injuries were reported.

Rain and snow are expected to shift into the eastern third of the country Sunday morning before moving offshore in the evening, with snow showers favoring the interior Northeast, northern New England and the Appalachian Mountains. Various winter alerts are in effect for these areas due to 2 to8inches of snowfall.

Snow showers in the interior Northeast will persist before gradually fading overnight.

Parts of the East Coast are still expected to see a cold rain from mid-morning through the early evening hours. Numerous cities may see travel impacts, including Cleveland; Buffalo, New York; Philadelphia; Washington, D.C.; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Atlanta.

As of Sunday afternoon, over 4,200 flights traveling into, within and from the U.S. have been delayed, while 572 have been canceled, according toFlightAware.com. Chicago O'Hare International Airport accounts for much of the travel issues, with over 250 cancellations and 771 delays. At John F. Kennedy International Airport, 70 flights have been canceled and 171 have been delayed.

At O'Hare, crowds are building as travelers attempt to play catch-up after over 1,000 cancellations on Saturday. The road into the airport was jammed with cars and the TSA precheck line appeared endless on Sunday.

Video from the airport's tarmac shared on social media showed the runways covered in snow on Saturday.

Sisters Rima and Jasmin Eid had their flight from Chicago to Miami delayed three times on Saturday. The sisters were trying to surprise their mother with a cruise they booked for her birthday.

"We're trying to get everything planned out, but unfortunately, we're very delayed, and they will not help us because we're basic economy," Rima said. "They said we will not accommodate any changes."

The sisters said they were stuck at the airport, hoping their flight will go ahead as planned.

"It's very frustrating and very upsetting," Jasmin said.

A Ukrainian delegation has begun fresh talks in Florida with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and President Donald Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff over the US-backed plan to end the war.

Before the meeting began, Rubio said the goal of the negotiations was to create "a pathway forward that leaves Ukraine sovereign, independent, and prosperous."

The head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, said the process would address "the security of Ukraine, about no repetition of aggression of Ukraine, about prosperity of Ukraine, about how to rebuild Ukraine."

Umerov, head of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, was appointed to head the Ukrainian team after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's powerful chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, resigned on Friday amid a corruption scandal.

Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner is also attending the meeting in Miami.

Ukraine is seeking international security guarantees as part of any agreement to end the war and a ceasefire based on the current frontlines. It has rejected ceding any territory not already occupied by Russian forces.

But Russia's President Vladimir Putin has shown little signal he's ready to offer concessions, saying that the war would only end "once Ukrainian troops withdraw from the territories they occupy."

Rubio met Ukrainian negotiators in Geneva last weekend, when substantial revisions were made to the original 28-point blueprint developed by Witkoff and Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian sovereign wealth fund and a Kremlin special envoy.

Ukraine's European allies said that the original plan – which was seen as highly favorable to Russia – would require "additional work."

Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council Rustem Umerov speaks to media after a round of peace talks that took place in Istanbul, Turkey, in July 2025. - Murad Sezer/Reuters

Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov said last week the Kremlin had received the latest version of the plan.

"This isn't an official one, but we do have the document. We haven't discussed it with anyone yet because the points in it require truly serious analysis and discussion," Ushakov said.

After suggesting that he wanted Ukraine to agree to a deal by Thursday of last week, Trump backed away from imposing any kind of deadline.

"You know what the deadline for me is? When it's over," he said.

The negotiations come against a backdrop of persistent Russian missile and drone attacks against cities and infrastructure across Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday that in the last week, Russia had used nearly 1,400 attack drones, 1,100 guided aerial bombs, and 66 missiles in attacks.

For its part, Ukraine continues to target Russian energy and defense infrastructure with long-range drones and domestically manufactured missiles. Ukraine also used maritime drones on Friday and Saturday in strikes in the Black Sea against two sanctioned oil tankers used to ship Russian oil.

The two tankers, which flew under the Gambian flag, were damaged but not sunk.

As the negotiations continue, Ukraine's former military chief of staff, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, who is considered a potential rival to Zelensky, wrote in the Daily Telegraph Sunday that "war does not always end with the victory of one side and the defeat of the other."

"We Ukrainians strive for complete victory, but we cannot reject the option of a long-term end to the war," Zaluzhnyi wrote.

Renate Reinsve nearly became a carpenter. Now she's Oscar-bound.

NEW YORK − ForRenate Reinsve, the spotlight can be a little hard to stomach.

The Norwegian newcomer broke through in Joachim Trier's 2021 romantic dramedy "The Worst Person in the World," winning best actress at Cannes Film Festival for her tour de force as Julie, a flailing twentysomething navigating sex, drugs, career and relationships. It was her first time leading a movie, and the unbridled character was both raw and exposing.

"I felt so stupid and ugly, like I was being too honest. I didn't know how people were going to take it," Reinsve recalls with a grin, eating a croissant while doing a crossword on a recent morning. "Then all the reviews came out and people related so much to what I felt was so shameful. I just started puking, it was so overwhelming!"

All eyes are once again on Reinsve with "Sentimental Value" (in theaters now), a quietly devastating family drama thatOscar punditsunanimously predict will earn hera best actress nomination. Co-written and directed by Trier, the movie follows a lonely theater actress named Nora (Reinsve), whose estranged filmmaker father, Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård), asks her to star in a deeply personal new project.

Nora is more emotionally guarded than Julie of "Worst Person," and carries deep resentment and hurt from childhood wounds. We gradually learn that Nora has long struggled with depression, as she withdraws further from Gustav and her protective younger sister, Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas). For Reinsve, 38, it was vital to capture the physicality and detachment of someone retreating inward.

"I've seen a lot of very big, expressive performances of characters struggling with mental health, and I was scared going in another direction, like, 'What if this is too invisible?' " Reinsve says. "She's trying all the time to hide. She'll get attention away from her by being silly, and then she'll get so far into the depression that everything is just shut down."

Nora's struggle with mental health is

"Sentimental Value" marks Reinsve's third film with Trier after a bit role in 2011's "Oslo, August 31st." She jokes that they "bring out the melancholy" in one another, and much of this movie was born from their conversations.

"I feel very safe with Renate," Trier says. "She has a very special energy in front of the camera that's quite unique. We were discovering it as we went along and that's a sign of trust."

'Sentimental Value' star Renate Reinsve nearly quit acting for woodworking

Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård, left) and Nora (Renate Reinsve) tiptoe around their feelings and desire to be seen by one another.

"Sentimental Value" explores the discomfort of what's left unsaid between parents and their grown kids – themes that couldn't be more resonant during the holiday season.

"You go back to your family to celebrate and it's like you magically become 14 again," Reinsve says. "But until you've had that conversation where you set boundaries and say, 'This is me now,' it will stay the same."

It's an idea that the amiable actress understands well. She was raised in a remote forest village outside Oslo. While her family worked in her grandfather's hardware store, she was off making short films with her friends: "We had this morning news show and we'd play all the weird people from where I grew up," Reinsve says, laughing.

She was "really shy" and "existential," yet she also had a rebellious streak. By 16, she was kicked out of school and then her home for being a wayward student, and she ran away to Edinburgh, Scotland, in part because "it was the cheapest ticket" she could find.

"I just went around the streets trying to get a job," Reinsve recalls. "Eventually, the hostel felt so sorry for me that they hired me."

Ariana Grande, Sydney Sweeney, more looks from 2025 Governors Awards red carpet

Hollywood's hottest names are on the Oscar campaign trail, and many of them turned out to celebrate the recipients of the16th Academy Governors Awards. See which A-listers turned out for the Academy's honorary Oscars on Nov. 16 in Los Angeles, starting with Ariana Grande.

She worked the front desk and the bar, "partying and having a lot of fun" as she also made inroads into the city's famedFringeperforming arts scene. After two years, she moved back to Norway to study acting and do theater, even as she grew frustrated by the "superficial" TV and film roles she was offered. Before "Worst Person" came along, she considered quitting acting to focus on the family carpentry trade.

"I've now renovated two houses, although I've realized I'm not very good at it," Reinsve acknowledges, smiling. But with hindsight, she sees parallels between "Sentimental Value" and her own longing for approval.

"Subconsciously, Nora becomes an actor to be closer to her dad, even though they can't really understand each other," she says. "Acting was very alien to my family because it was so different from what they did, working in that hardware store. So I think subconsciously, I wanted to make them proud in a way they could understand."

The 'profound' experience of taking her family to Cannes Film Festival

Renate Reinsve says it was

Reinsve says she was "offered a lot of romantic comedies" after "Worst Person," but "I didn't think any of those things were good enough, and I also didn't want to do something commercial right after." Instead, she's primarily focused on indie dark comedies ("A Different Man") and sci-fi horror films ("The Backrooms").

She was originally cast in the Julia Garner role in "Weapons," but was forced to drop out amid scheduling conflicts. ("That was, of course, sad. I still haven't seen it, but I'm going to.")

When she's not working, "hanging out with my son is my favorite activity," Reinsve says. "That's what brings me the most joy. It's funny, I'm working so much in English and then hanging out with my 6-year-old in Norwegian. So my Norwegian is getting worse while my English is getting better – I'm between two languages!"

Right now, the actress is trying to squeeze in rest where she can while promoting "Sentimental Value," and she's pleased that audiences are responding to it on such a personal level. The movie has even helped bring her family closer, as they joined her at the Cannes Film Festival premiere in May.

"That was really profound," Reinsve says. Career-wise, "they could see how big this thing has gotten that I've always wanted to do. Coming from such a small place in Norway, it shouldn't be possible. But I think for them, getting to be a part of it and see what it was – some pieces of the puzzle fell into place."
