The pop star revealed on the Thursday, April 30 episode ofThe Tonight Showthat a certain couple from the hit HBO dramedy inspired her third studio album,You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.
During the interview, hostJimmy Fallontold Rodrigo, 23, that he heard that one of her songs was inspired by the show. However, she revealedSex and the Cityhad an even bigger impact on the record.
"There's actually multiple songs that are inspired by Miranda and Steve," the "Drop Dead" singer said, referring toCynthia NixonandDavid Eigenberg'scharacters.
Added Rodrigo, "I love them. It's my favorite show. I loveSex and the City."
The "Good 4 U" hitmaker then revealed that she's "watched, like, every episode maybe three times."
"Like, when Miranda and Steve are getting back together, she's crying. 'Steve, anytime something funny happens, I just want to tell you.' And I remember watching that and being like, 'Oh, my God, I have to write a song about this,'" said Rodrigo.
The three-time Grammy winner then spoke abouther upcoming Unraveled Tour, which she announced on April 30.

Fallon, 51, asked why she gave her tour that name, but Rodrigo played coy.
"We'll find out soon. We'll find out soon. I can't give too much away, but I'm really excited," she said.
Rodrigo continued, "I've been working so hard on it, and I'm just, like, so stoked to play these songs live."
