West WilsonofferedAmanda Batulaa shoulder to cry on during her tense fight with then-husband,Kyle Cooke.
The May 12 episode ofSummer Housepicks up in the middle of Kyle's standoff with longtime friend and housemateCarl Radke. As the previous episode came to a close, Kyle shouted, "F--- you, Carl," prompting Carl, 41, to lunge for Kyle, 43, and scream, "What did I do to you? Nothing, but support your f---ing ass. I've been here for you all f---ing summer."
In the new episode, the pair continues to argue as the rest of the housemates try to intervene. That leaves Amanda, 34, to try to calm Kyle, whileLindsay Hubbard, Carl's ex-fiancée, tries to calm Carl. Amanda tells Kyle to stop, and when he ignores her, she leaves him outside with West, 31, andBen Waddell.
With the housemates separately checking on Carl, Kyle and Amanda, Lindsay takes time to apologize to Kyle for bringing up and questioning Kyle and Amanda's relationship. But Kyle explains that he was triggered by his earlier conversation withCiara Millerabout possibly taking time to separate from Amanda. "I just feel attacked," he tearfully tells Lindsay, 39, and Ben, 38. "I'm in such a freaking vulnerable, sensitive spot," he says, adding, "It didn't take much to rock my world, because I'm a f---ing mess."
As Lindsay validates his feelings, she immediately tells him he can't tell Amanda, "F--- you," as he did earlier in the night. Which prompts Kyle to say, "I feel like she's deserted me." But Lindsay rebuts, saying that Amanda might feel deserted and "abandoned" as Kyle pursues his DJ career.
"Well, no sex for seven years, and no attention and no friendship and no partnership will probably wear someone down," Kyle says. "I just don't know what to do anymore."
While Kyle continues to confide in Ben, revealing that he feels like he's "drowning," Amanda finds comfort in West's arms. The pair run into each other while walking through the house and immediately go in for a long embrace.
"You pulling up your chair next to me," she says before her tears cut her off, and she cries in his arms. "Thank you, I love you," she says as he kisses her cheek. He then asks, "You okay?" and she nods and walks away, tearfully saying, "Yes."
Tensions begin to ease when Kyle pulls Carl aside to say he wants to "squash" their differences. Carl explains he got heated when he heard Kyle tell Amanda, "F--- you."
But through his tears, Kyle says, "I feel like this is how it is. I'm taking bullets, and Amanda is eating it up," adding, "I can't even remember the last time she stood up for me."

"I think she f---ing can't stand me," Kyle says before explaining to Carl that it was Ciara's comment about separation that really affected him. "I feel like I've been a mess all summer. I feel like my life is falling apart." Carl reckons with Kyle's revelation, and they eventually reconcile.
Once Kyle and Carl come together, Kyle attempts to apologize to Amanda, but he instead finds himself heeding to Amanda's frustrations.
Despite the tense dinner, all housemates, aside from Amanda and Lindsay, go out to the bars. It's not until the next morning that the housemates debrief, includingJesse Solomon, who asks West what he makes of Ciara's separation suggestions.
"[Kyle's] just so dramatic that I don't think he can let her do that and not make it into like, 'She's leaving me,' " West says, before Jesse, 32, adds, "Now it's turned into like a separation."
"I think space would be fantastic for both of them," West replies, prompting Jesse to express his concerns about that possibility. "I don't think that's the answer either. That sounds like a step towards them breaking up."
West then simply replies, "Damn."
In January 2026, Amanda and Kyle announced that that theysplitafter four years of marriage.
