Aubrey Plazais going to become a mom!
TheParks and Recreationstar is expecting her first child with the actorChristopher Abbott, with whom she starred in the 2020 psychological dramaBlack Bear.
"It was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year," a source told PEOPLE on Tuesday. "They feel very blessed."

The pair played creative collaborators who become lovers inBlack Bear, which Plaza co-produced to acclaim when it premiered atSundance. They also co-starred in the off-Broadway revival ofJohn Patrick Shanley's raucous romantic dramaDanny and the Deep Blue Sea, which ran from from Oct. 2023 to Jan. 2024.
Plaza is coming off a heavy year following thedeath of her husbandand close collaboratorJeff Baenain Jan. 2025.
Though the twoseparated before his death, Plaza told herParks and Reccostar Amy Poehler in August that life had become "a daily struggle," though she was "grateful to be moving through the world."
Entertainment Weeklyhas reached out to representatives for Plaza and Abbott for comment.
