Megan Thee Stallion's Sheer Retrofete Dress Has Dangerously High Slit

Megan Thee Stallionis officially a Broadway star. After making her big debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, the rapper celebrated in a look that turned every head in New York City. She stepped out of the theater to meet a crowd of fans while wearing a dress that was both elegant and incredibly bold. It was a perfect choice for her big night on the Great White Way.

Megan Thee Stallion meets fans in fully sheer Retrofete dress with ridiculously high slit

Megan Thee Stallion chose the Genovia Embroidered Dress by the luxury brand Retrofête. This stunning piece has a price tag of $2,598. The dress, made from a thin, champagne-colored mesh, is almost entirely see-through. To add a touch of sparkle, the fabric is covered in rows of tiny, shimmering sequins. These sequins are arranged in a pretty wave pattern that catches the light with every move she makes.

The design is a classic halter style that shows off her shoulders and back. However, the most talked-about feature is the ridiculously high slit. The cut goes all the way up to her hip, showing off Stallion's legs. Because the fabric is so sheer, the dress gives the illusion of being "naked" while still looking very expensive and high-fashion.

Megan Thee Stallion kept her accessories simple, letting the dress be the star. She carried a clear Alexis Bittar clutch that looked like a sculpted piece of ice. The rapper also wore metallic silver heels that made her look even taller and more statuesque. For her beauty look, she wore her hair in a voluminous, retro-style updo that matched the 1920s vibe of her Broadway show.

Stallion's makeup was glowing with dramatic winged eyeliner and a glossy lip. As she walked through the crowd holding a large bouquet of flowers, Stallion looked confident and powerful. This look proves that she is not just a rap icon, but a true fashion force on the Broadway stage.

It has been years sinceMegan FoxandMachine Gun Kelly, aka MGK, ended their relationship. The high-profile couple reportedly broke up during the Thanksgiving weekend in 2024. People attend "Date My Mate", a live dating night where friends pitch their single friends in London

LONDON, March 27 (Reuters) - Fed up of swiping left or right on dating apps, young London singles are returning to a classic British way of meeting people--the pub--with a ‌modern twist: a PowerPoint presentation by a close friend pitching them as dating material.

Putting together a ‌slide deck is second nature for many younger millennials and older Gen Zers. Now, they're using that skill to enhance their mates' love lives, just as dating apps are losing their appeal.

"I hate the swiping," said Annie, 27, adding she was keen to see if her friend's two-minute pitch at a 'Date my Mate' event could land her a boyfriend--or at least a first date.

Organisers said all 150 tickets for the event, held at a north London pub, were sold in less ‌than five minutes. And they're planning to roll out more, aiming for one a week across the country.

DATING APPS LOSE SHINE

Dating apps are fading in popularity in the UK, with usage across the 10 biggest platforms falling 16% between 2023 and 2024, according to Global Dating Insights. Polling shows nearly half of users have had negative experiences on apps like Tinder and Hinge.

At the event, friends crowded around tables with glasses of wine, wearing "Date" or "Mate" stickers, as presenters clicked through slides of flattering holiday snaps and fun facts.

"A bit more about Lauren. She's 30. ‌She's a structural engineer, so even though she will stop walls from falling down, she'll always be there to support you," said one friend.

"Interesting fact, she's just about to submit her sexy fantasy romance book to publishers."

Having seen similar events in Australia and the U.S. on social media, Emily Churchill, head of marketing at wine company Nice who helped arrange the event, said she knew she had to bring the concept to London.

"It's just so ‌much fun," she said, adding it gave coupled-up friends a way to help their single mates find love and escape "horrible dating stories."

'VINTAGE' WAY OF MEETING PEOPLE

Those hunting for a match said it was easier for a friend to sell their best qualities--and poke ‌fun at their flaws--with humour and honesty.

"It's quite retro. It's a vintage way of meeting people," said Jonny, 28, a journalist, joking about how he tried to steer his own presentation.

His friend Patrick said the preparation involved "hundreds of photos over WhatsApp, hundreds, and him being incredibly specific about the ones that make him ‌look good."

Laughing about whether the friendship would survive the pitch, Patrick said he was confident the slides were good enough to lead to a wedding some day.

Putin asks oligarchs to donate to Russia's budget as cost of Ukraine war soars, The Bell media reports

March 26 (Reuters) - Russia's President Vladimir Putin has asked oligarchs to donate to the country's budget in a bid ‌to stabilise the country's finances as he presses on ‌with his invasion of Ukraine, The Bell online media outlet reported late on Thursday, citing unnamed sources.

Reuters

It said Putin met top Russia's businessmen behind closed doors on Thursday.

The Financial Times also published a similar report on Thursday, citing three people familiar with the matter.

The Bell, citing ‌the sources, said Putin discussed military funding and continuation of the war, which is in its fifth year since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022.

Russia will fight on, Putin said, until it captures the remaining areas of Ukraine's eastern Donbas region not under its control, the report added.

The Bell also said billionaire Suleiman Kerimov at ‌the meeting with Putin pledged to donate 100 billion roubles ($1.23 billion).

Reuters could not immediately verify the report. Calls to Kerimov's office in Russia's Federation Council were not answered outside of business hours on Friday.

As the war in Ukraine drags on, Russia is facing ‌a double whammy of falling budget revenues from energy sales and of an economic slowdown, which affects tax income from other sectors of the economy.

Sources ‌told Reuters earlier this month that the Russian government has been preparing a possible 10% cut to all "non-sensitive" spending in this year's budget, but the final decision will hinge on the sustainability ‌of the oil price rise triggered by the Iran war.

Israel launches new wave of strikes on Iran with no sign of diplomatic breakthrough

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Israel launched a wave of strikes on Iran early Friday ahead of a planned U.N. Security Council meeting to discuss attacks on Iranian civilian infrastructure, while Iran and the United States appeared at a diplomatic impasse, setting the stage for more potential escalation as the first month of the Middle East war neared its end.

APTOPIX Iraq Iran US Israel

Israel's attack Friday on targets "in the heart of Tehran" came after the country said it would be "intensifying" its strikes on Iranian weapons production facilities, but there was no immediate information on what was hit.

Smoke also rose over Beirut, although Israel did not immediately report hitting the Lebanese capital, while air raid sirens sounded in Israel as the military said it was working to intercept Iranian missiles. Iran kept up its attacks on its Gulf Arab neighbors, with incoming drones and missiles reported in both Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

The U.S. has been pushing Iran to start talks on a 15-point proposal for a ceasefire, but at the same time has ordered thousands more troops to the region, possibly in preparation for a military attempt to wrest the Strait of Hormuz from Iran's tight grip.

After Wall Street's worst day since the war began,Asian shares mostly fell Fridayover growing doubts about the chances of de-escalation. Oil prices rose again, the Brent crude, the international standard, at $107 a barrel in morning trading, up more than 45% since Israel and the U.S. attacked Iran on Feb. 28 to start the war.

US pushing diplomatic solution but sending more troops to the region

Iran's stranglehold on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, has caused growing concerns of a global energy crisis, and appears part of a strategy to get the U.S. to back down by roiling the world economy. A Gulf Arab bloc said Thursday that Iran is now exacting tolls from ships to ensure their safe passage through the waterway.

Trump envoy Steve Witkoff saidWashington has delivereda15-point "action list"to Iran for a possible ceasefire, using Pakistan as an intermediary. The list includes restrictions on Iran's nuclear program and re-opening the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has rejected the U.S. offer and put forth its ownfive-point proposal, which includes reparations and recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.

As the diplomatic efforts went on, a group of U.S. ships drew closer to the region with some 2,500 Marines. Also, at least 1,000 paratroopers from the82nd Airborne— trained to land in hostile territory to secure key territory and airfields — have been ordered to the region.

As American and Israeli attacks on Iran continued, the U.N. Security Council scheduled closed consultation on Iran for Friday in New York, according to two U.N. diplomats who spoke on condition of anonymity because the meeting is not public.

They added that Russia had asked for the meeting on U.S.-Israeli attacks on civilian infrastructure in the country, that the United States, which holds the Security Council presidency, had scheduled it.

Deaths continue to climb, primarily in Iran and Lebanon

Since the war began, more than 1,900 people have been killed in Iran, according to the Health Ministry.

Eighteen people have died in Israel, while at least three Israeli soldiers have also been killed in Lebanon. At least 13 American troops have been killed. Four people in the occupied West Bank and 20 in Gulf Arab states have also died.

Authorities said more than 1,100 people have died in Lebanon. In Iraq, where Iranian-supported militia groups have entered the conflict, 80 members of the security forces have been killed.

Rising reported from Bangkok. Associated Press writers Giovanna Dell'Orto in Miami and Edith M. Lederer at the United Nations contributed to this report.
