Adames joins IBF titleholder Aaron McKenna and WBO champion Denzel Bentley under Dana White's promotional umbrella, although Bentley's days as champion may be numbered, with the WBO expected to formally strip him of his belt for taking a fight with Shane Mosley Jr. on Nov. 7 at Zuffa Boxing 12, rather than facing his mandatory challenger, Yoenli Hernandez.

Adames (25-1-1, 18 KOs), 32, is originally from the Dominican Republic but is now based in Las Vegas. His past seven bouts have come under the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) banner. Adames' PBC alignment coincided with his move to middleweight. He went 6-0-1 with PBC at middleweight, with a controversial draw against Hamzah Sheeraz being the only blemish on his record over that time.

The Dominican has fought once already in 2026, defeating Austin "Ammo" Williams by unanimous decision in March to retain his belt for a third time.

The WBC has ordered Adames to defend his championship against Meiirim Nursultanov next. The pair have until Oct. 20 to reach an agreement or purse bids will be called.

"This is a new chapter in my career, and I'm here to make history. Zuffa Boxing is building something special, and I want to be part of it," Adames said in a statement.

"I'm ready to face the best fighters in the world on the biggest stage. The best of 'Caballo Bronco' is yet to come."
